I’ve gone back to using Google Chrome

google-chrome-logo-711569Firefox is great and all that shiz however I’ve found myself going back to Google Chrome. Essentially this is because just recently (Or recently for me) Google released a load of addons for Google Chrome, or 3rd party addons sponsored by Google Chrome’s Extension index. I have installed webmaster tools like SEO status, Google Mail checker plus and Facebook. These all work well for my needs as they simply do what I require however in comparison to Firefox; they simply “do it” faster. Which is probably why I have switched over to Google Chrome as I can now have over 15 tabs open without any lag which affects the rest of my browsing experience.

So the extensions I have installed…

The first extension I installed is SEO status, it is an extension which proves itself useful as it gives me information on a domains WHOIS, a websites Alexa/Pagerank status as well as back links and it will also check whether or not the website is actually up. (Meaning you will know for your sure it isn’t your network stating a website is down however also another network confirming it for you) The next extension is Google Mail checker plus – this is simply an extension which is perfect for what I need, it allows me to check my mail directly from the browser as opposed to loading the Google Mail page. I also use Google Mail domains and with this extension it allows you to add your Google Mail domain so you can access your mail (As said) directly from the browser with a little pop-up showing you your emails in real time. Lastly I have installed an extension called “Facebook”, this simply allows you to access your Facebook account directly from the browser. (Just like Google Mail checker plus) This in itself is pretty epic win as I don’t have to load a page to probably find useless information in for example any status updates etc.

Simply put – if Firefox were any faster it would be perfect however I find it to be too resource intense as I can simply have a much nicer browsing experience with Chrome whereas with Firefox I can’t really give that same comment. Though there is one thing that bugs me and that is Invision Power Board and vBulletin have not updated their code to work with Google Chrome and this is a problem as the WYSIWYG editor doesn’t work so this means when I created forum posts I usually have to create them in Firefox. It is a small issue however one which is quite annoying as Chrome would be absolutely perfect without this problem of compatibility. I guess I am going to stick with Chrome and in my last blog post on this I guess I just lied. :)
